First Responders

At Equinox, we specialize in "Helping the Helpers." Our mission is to provide proactive, culturally competent mental health support to our clients, especially those choosing to be on the front lines. Unlike traditional EAP programs, we understand that first responders require a provider who understands the "boots-on-the-ground" mentality. From admin betrayal to moral injury, burnout to grief, and high-stakes decision making to the calls that stick with you, your work can be incredibly stressful and your self care is vital.

Embedded Experience

Lindsey Saltzman served as a co-responding embedded clinician, working side-by-side with law enforcement, EMS, correctional officers, and fire fighters in high-stakes environments, including ICAC investigations, mental health crisis evaluations, negotiations, and more.

Specialized Training

With training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management), CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional), and other trauma-informed care specifically for first responders, we are equipped to assist you.

Agency Wide Support

From the brass to the rookie, wellness matter regardless of rank, however agency culture must follow suit. Lindsey is involved with several of her local peer support teams and has trained departments in topics such as general mental health, moral injury, PTSD, and more.

Cultural Competency

We speak your language. There is no "learning curve" for the clinician regarding the stressors of shift work, critical incidents, or public scrutiny. Lindsey is also married to a LEO, allowing yet another perspective into the challenges of balancing it all.

We Train Therapists

Lindsey has provided multiple trainings to other therapists and social workers to improve the cultural competency of her field as a whole, shifting access to care and improving provider quality.

Endorsed by Trusted Organizations

Lindsey has been vetted and endorsed by First Responder Wellness programs such as the NVFC (National Volunteer Fire Council) and Tri-State Peer Support Team.
